Perhaps a fragment torn from time, or a story. Every moment lived and every object created intrudes upon an empty space, reshaping it with its presence. Every spoken word is the vanished state of a previous emptiness—each utterance leaves traces both on the moment that follows and the moment that came before. A Piece of Space simultaneously embodies existence and absence, wholeness and fragmentation. A piece of emptiness, a piece of place, or a piece of time. Emptiness is not merely negative space; it is a constantly shifting terrain, transformed by presence, momentarily affected by every movement and dispersion of being—a foundation where meaning is formed. To exist in life is to move. And to move is to fill a void. Like scattered forms dispersed in space without any discernible logic. Concrete carries the traces of this movement. While its weight conveys a sense of solidity, its porous surface, cracks, and method of processing also encapsulate the notion of emptiness. As a material directly linked to built, inhabited, and demolished spaces, it bears the imprints of time and place. The paintings reveal the traces left by construction materials—dragged, pushed, and scraped across the surface. What comes next encroaches upon the boundaries of what came before, leaving behind irreversible marks. The density of textures, the layering of stains and depth, sustains the very notion of weight inherent in concrete, extending it onto the canvas. The forms present both an abstract and figurative narrative. Human figures appear as if in a state of melting, dissolution, or suppression—as though concrete has sealed their existence.
